Context and Challenge:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I led a project to ensure CALD communities in Melbourne had access to critical health information, overcoming language and cultural barriers.
Action Taken:
I developed a targeted communication strategy, partnered with community organizations and ethnic media, created multilingual materials, and organized educational sessions with translation and interpretation services.
Results:
The initiative significantly increased awareness and understanding of COVID-19 health measures among CALD communities, fostering trust and collaboration between health authorities and these communities.
Key Learnings:
This project demonstrated the importance of cultural sensitivity and strategic communication in public health crises, showcasing my ability to lead with empathy and efficiency.
