Aid Effectiveness in Conflict Zones

In 2007, Benine conducted a pivotal study at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague titled “Effective Aid Response in Prolonged Conflict: Case Study Uganda.” Her research highlighted the complexities of aid in conflict zones, revealing that poorly managed aid can worsen local tensions. Benine’s work advocates for conflict-sensitive and community-centered approaches to aid distribution, emphasizing the importance of transparency and local involvement to foster sustainable peace.
